We offer both in-person worship and also livestream for our Ash Wednesday service.
On Ash Wednesday we begin our forty-day journey toward Easter with a day of fasting and repentance. Marking our foreheads with dust, we acknowledge that we die and return to the earth. “Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return.”
All are invited to our Ash Wednesday service led by Pastor Erin.
If you wish to join from home, you may wish mark your forehead with the sign of the cross during the service. If you’d like to do that with ashes, feel free to be creative. If you have a fireplace, you can take ashes and mix in a bit of cooking oil. If you are a sketch artist you might have a charcoal pencil. Or if you like you can use oil or water. Because what is less important is what we use, what is more important is the meaning behind it.
